Where To Stay When You Visit Portpatrick

If you plan on visiting Portpatrick this year, you will find a good selection of accommodation to choose from, and whatever budget you have, you there are options available.

If it is a hotel that you are after, the 3 star Portpatrick Hotel is an obvious choice. Situated on the cliff top and with a lovely restaurant and bar, you can’t really go wrong. Golf lovers will also be interested to know that there is a golf course here, and what better way to spend an afternoon that 18 or 9 holes?

The Fernhill Hotel is another nearby hotel which has tree stars, a sea view and standard as well as executive rooms. This hotel dates from the 19th century, and free breakfast is included in the booking price. Another notable bonus is that they also offer free WiFi.

The Crown Hotel in Portpatrick is a seafront hotel and pub which has a fantastic seafood restaurant. The terrace is a lovely place to sit on a nice day, and again they offer free wifi for customers.

The Rickwood House Hotel is a four star option that you might want to go for if you have a slightly higher budget, and with breakfast included in the price, a stay here still will not break the bank. This is another hotel with a golf course, and is a great place to spend a few nights at any time of year.

Another 4 start hotel is Knockinaam Lodge, which again has sea views and also the added bonus of a private beach. How many hotels can boast that they have their own private beach? The hotel has an acclaimed restaurant and if you are a whisky fan you can pay a visit to the Knockinaam Lodge whisky bar.

If you are after something a little bit more casual, The Downshire Hotel may suit you with its casual restaurant, bar and free hot breakfast. Originally a 19th century coaching inn, the Downshire has prices starting at just £90 per night.

If you want to book any of these hotels you can either call them directly (I have included links to the websites), or you can try searching on websites such as Hotels.com or Booking.com. I recommend that you try and compare the prices so that you get the best deals. I have found that shopping around a while before you make a booking can be the best way to save money and get the most out of your stay.
